Gameweek 30 Preview.

Gameweek 30 (or 29 in the case of some clubs) is shaping up to be a real banger. Apart from it being the first Gameweek in 3 months, we have three real eye-catching matches for us. Lets preview them, shall we ?

Manchester City v Arsenal; 17th June, 10:15pm.

First off on the much awaited June 17th Manchester City face Arsenal at the Etihad. Pep v Protege. Last time out the home team we’re beaten at Old Trafford by their neighbours in a game which saw Ederson register one of his worst games so far (apart from Wolves where he barely clocked in 15 minutes on the pitch) To be fair, their star man Kevin De Bryne was missing from the squad due to an injury but he most definitely will be fit for the match. An added insentive for City is that if they were to lose this match and Liverpool win in the Mersey side derby, Liverpool will have clinched the title. As for the gunners, last time out they beat West ham with a 78th minute goal from substitute Lacazette. Key names are also back from injury including Lucas Torreira and Chambers. Arsenal since hiring Mikel Arteta (who actually contracted corona virus) have been on the uprise and are actually third in the form table behind Manchester united and Liverpool. With the lack of home advantage, its hard to call this one, although Manchester City are the favorites especially is you watched the highlights of Arsenal’s friendly against Brentford which they lost 3-2 (video below) Lets not forget how in the last match against City Arsenal were 3-0 down within 20 minutes at their own home. But, if Arsenal are to show up the way they did against Manchester United on the first day of this monstrous year, they sure do have a chance. So will the master or the apprentice come out on top ?

Tottenham Hotspur v Manchester United; 19th June, 10:15pm, The second block buster match is Tottenham Hotspur vs Manchester united at the Tottenham Hotspur stadium. Jose Mourinho welcomes his old employers to his new place in what promises drama and entertainment. For one, Pogba returns from a lengthy injury to face the boss with whom he had a public fall out with. Some find this a big coincidence. Also, a big advantage for the red devils is the fact that Dele Alli has been hit with a one match ban because of an “offensive tweet” that the Englishman made a while back. In addition to Pogba returning to fitness, so has Rashford who has not played since ManUtd beat Wolves in the FA cup. Spurs also have stars returning to fitness. Kane will be back after a hamstring injury and so will the influential Son Heung-min. In the return match when Jose Mourinho made his first return to Old Trafford after his sacking in December 2018, The Reds pulled on over the special one beating them 2-1. Will Bruno carry the reds to a victory or does Jose Mourinho have some tricks up his sleeve ?

Everton v Liverpool; 21st June (Father’s day😉) 9:00pm The third must watch game is the Mersey side derby on Sunday 21st June where Liverpool have the chance to clinch the coveted premier league title after 30 years of waiting against their noisy neighbours. side note: This game gives me 2018 vibes when Mancity had the chance to clinch the premier league title against ManUtd at the Etihad and actually went 2-0 up in the first half, but then came Paul Pogba who inspired a great come back ahah, good times ! Anyway, back to the point, in this latest installment of the Mersey side derby, the champions take to an empty Goodison park to get their amazing season back on track. Klopp v Ancelotti for the first time this season in the premier league. But when Ancelotti was at Napoli, he got the better of Klopp not once but twice. When they did meet in the FA cup earlier this season, Klopp got his win. If we’re only talking about the premier league, Everton were left with their tails between their legs as they left Anfield after being thrashed 5-2 in the return fixture (video below) If there was a good time to play Liverpool this season it would be now, no momentum, suffered their first loss recently. Its looking to be a banger. and I’m really looking forward to some of the match-ups across the field; Calvert-Lewin v Van Djik is looking to be fierce. Liverpool fans will be praying for Arsenal to show up and beat ManCity so they can clinch it against their derby rivals.

Notable mentions:

Aston Villa v Chelsea; 21st June, 6:15pm

Chelsea face off against Aston Villa. Fresh off their new transfers (or alleged😬 ) Chelsea go to Aston Villa park on Sunday 21st looking for 3 points to solidify their spot in the top four but with their remaining fixtures its going to be a lot of hard work. They hope that Abraham will tap into his early season form to help them bag a routine 3 points. We all know the danger that Grealish poses though and with Villa’s life on the line it will be interesting to see how that pans out. We also pray that Calum Hudson-Odoi is okay after testing positive for the corona virus

Newcastle v Sheffield; 21st June, 4:00pm

On the same day, Newcastle go up against Sheffield United. I honesty don’t know if we should start considering Newcastle an elite club.😂 (Let me know in the comments) But this is a notable mention because of Sheffield United who have had a hell of a season and are right in the thick of it in the top four race. They face Newcastle at St. James Park. Newcastle have been the subject of much talk this quarantine concerning their take over. We will see if they have what it takes to become an elite team.

Other Matches:

Because we’re all in quarantine I know we’re watching every match available to us so let me just line them up for you

  • Aston Villa v Sheffield United; 17th June, 8:00pm
  • Norwich v Southampton; 19th June, 8:00pm
  • Watford v Leicester; 20th June, 2:30pm
  • Brighton& Hove Albion v Arsenal; 20th June, 5:00pm
  • West Ham v Wolverhampton; 20th June, 7:30pm
  • Bournemoth v Crystal Palace; 20th June, 9:45pm

Anyway, as we look forward to another round of matches it has been noted that players will not play with their names on their shirts, rather with the words Black Lives Matter in support of the wide spread movement who are protesting inequality.

Enjoy the round of games and make sure that you come back for more content. Don’t forget to like, follow and share if you liked it.

I want to thank you for the support you’ve shown me so far it means a lot. See you soon and stay safe😁❤ and don’t forget to update your Fantasy premier league teams.

  1. Good work✨ 😂aki if United loses to Jose’s Tottenham ..I wonder how he’ll react 😂.Remember when He won Tottenham with Martial’s last minute goal back in 17-18 (Classic)😂😂 ……

What I’m trying to say is United getting to top four would be 10 times harder since Sheffield have a game in hand and are only 2 points behind United😪May God help us

And no way Newcastle is an elite club until they actually win shit.
